Portugal beat Cameroon 3-1 at World Cup warmup

On the duel between Real Madrid's Cristiano Ronaldo and the European champion Samuel Eto'o from Inter Milan, the hero of the game was the Portuguese Raul Meireles from Futebol Clube do Porto in a World Cup warmup which ended with Portugal beating Cameroon 3-1 on Tuesday.

Played at Covilha, a small town 300 kilometers from Lisbon, it was the last friendly match before the Portuguese national team leaves the country to the South African World Cup.

For the Portuguese team, it was a rehearsal for first match in the World Cup against other African team, Cote d'Ivoire.

The Portuguese entered the game showing that they were not yet ready to the South African tournament. They missed a lot of passes, failed to maintain the control of the ball, and had difficulties on the ball reception.

The first goal came at the 31st minute against the flow of the game. The Cameroon team had the control of the game, had more ball possession, but on a counterattack the midfielder Raul Meireles received the ball in the square and shot to goal. On the next play, Eto'o received the second yellow card and was expelled from the game.

On the first play of the second half, Meireles scored the second for the Portuguese national team. The Cameroon team reduced on a header by Web on the 68th minute, but Nani scored the last goal on the 80th minute.World Cup
