Extra World Cup tickets to go on sale

A total of 164,000 World Cup tickets including 2,000 tickets for the semifinals will go on sale on Friday, FIFA said Wednesday.

FIFA's secretary-general Jerome Valcke confirmed the 11th-hour

availability of the extra semifinal tickets at the handover of Cape

Town stadium to FIFA.

Valcke said the tickets, which had been reserved for FIFA, were

spread across all 64 games.

Extra tickets have come available at various stages over the past

few months as the organization's ticketing agency Match returns

tickets from unsold World Cup packages.
