Two more goals from Leo Messi, who was joined by Pedro Rodriguez and Bojan Krkic, once again kept the pressure on Real Madrid at the top of the table and means that after 36 games of the season Barcelona has a total of 93 points. That is a new club record and Guardiola took his hat off to those who have made it possible.

"We have 93 points and I don't even believe it myself," he said, highlighting the amount of games his side has played in domestic competition and in the Champions League.

"This is the seventeenth match we have played every three or four days, it is an incredible effort," he added.

The win edges Barcelona closer to the league title with just two matches to play, but his side could still lose out to Real Madrid if Barcelona slips up and Madrid wins its remaining games.

Whatever happens between now and the end of the season, Guardiola insists he has nothing to reproach his players

"People will draw conclusions if we don't win the league, but I am not worried. When we finish we will be happy if we win and sad if we don' t. However, when we look back on it all we'll say 'it has been spectacular,' " he concluded.
