Internacional advances to second phase of Libertadores Cup

Beating Ecuadorian Deportivo Quito 3-0 at home on Thursday, the Internacional advanced into the second phase of the Libertadores Cup.

With 12 points, Internacional ended the first phase as the leader of Group 5 of the tournament.

Andrezinho scored the opener in the third minute. Receiving the ball outside of the box, he dribbled towards the goal and fired an angled shot that sailed into the Deportivo Quito goal.

Kleber scored the team's second in the 60th minute when he headed in a pass from Bolivar. In stoppage time of the second half, Giuliano fired the ball on a sharp angle into the visiting team's goal.

Internacional ends the first phase with a great defensive performance. During the entire first phase, Internacional gave up only two goals and scored eight. In the next stage, Internacional will play Argentinean Banfield in the round of 16.
