South African national soccer coach, Carlos Alberto Parreira from Brazil, has earned the respect of the players.

That's the view of Katlego Mphela who is a striker for national team Bafana Bafana and for South African Premier Soccer League team Mamelodi Sundowns.

Mphela made his comments on Thursday after the South African team walloped both Swaziland and Zimbabwe during a two-week training camp that gave South Africa's technical team a chance to have a look at the pool of local talent available.

South Africa hosts the FIFA World Cup, kicking off on June 11 in Johannesburg. Mphela was an instrumental figure in both games, scoring a brace in the first and working tirelessly in the second, creating scoring opportunities for his teammates, according to News24.

"These two games have shown where we are with the preparations. The camp gave the local based players a chance and many of us took that chance well. Everyone wants to prove that he deserves to be in the World Cup squad. We know we stand a chance of earning contracts with overseas teams if we put on a good showing in the World Cup," said Mphela.

"He (Parreira) is different from the other coaches we've had because he always has a solution," Mphela was quoted as saying. " The other coaches used to shout at us and you would not know why the coach is shouting at you. Parreira makes things easy."

"He solves problems. He has certainly got the respect of the local guys because working under him is fantastic. We want to do everything to die for him and the nation. I mean he has won the World Cup before with Brazil and that means he's a great coach."
