Yao Ming showed his quick wit as he took reporters' questions in his farewell conference on Wednesday.

The 2.26-meter giant, who announced his retirement from professional basketball, said that "I will stay on Earth" while asked about where he will stay, in China or the United States, after retirement.

When a reporter asked if Yao's 14-month-old daughter, Yao Qinlei, had learned to call Daddy, Yao said: "Yes, but most of the time she called me just because she saw ice cream in my hand."

In response to a Dutch reporter's invitation for Yao to coach the Dutch basketball team, Yao said: "Thank you for your offer, but I am busy enough to deal with the Shanghai Sharks (the club Yao owns). Good luck for your team."
