The former NBA player and current player for Paulistano, Rafael "Baby" Araujo criticized his former team of Flamengo on Saturday for not having fulfilled their promises and responsibilities.

Baby was a member of Flamengo's New Brazilian Basketball League's (NBB) winning team and also helped the team to win the South American League of basketball last season. However, unhappy at Flamengo, the forward decided to play elsewhere.

"What Flamengo is missing is professionalism and respect for its players. The titles we won last year were as a team of professionals, however, the club did not act in the same manner," said Araujo, who played with the Toronto Raptors and the Utah Jazz while briefly in the NBA.

"The late payments of salary remain a problem at Flamengo. They still owe me, but my agent handling that. I left at the right time. Here at Paulistano, they know how to treat their players with respect.

"There is nothing like a professional player getting treated with respect."

In regard to the player's future, the 29-year-old admitted tha the has a strong desire to return to the largest stage of basketball in the world, the NBA.

However, in order to get there, the forward recognized that his performance with Paulistano will make or break his future in the NBA. For this reason, Araujo is determined and focused on playing hard and attracting the attention of NBA scouts.
