Back problem forces Powell out of London GP

Jamaican sprinter Asafa Powell has pulled out of the 100 meters at the Diamond League meeting here on Friday because of a nagging back injury, organizers said Thursday.

American Tyson Gay is now the only star sprinter competing at the London Grand Prix.

World and Olympic 100m champion Usain Bolt had ended his season because of a back injury.
