Serena Williams to play World TeamTennis in July

The World TeamTennis announced on its website on Thursday that thirteen-time Grand Slam winner Serena Williams will make a return to play in the WTT event in July.

According to the WTT website, Serena Williams will play on July 7 in Washington and two days later at at Sacramento, California. Her sister Venus Williams is also scheduled to play on the same Kastles team with Serena.

Serena has not played since July of 2010 after undergoing foot surgery and then developing blood clots in her lung.

World TeamTennis is a nine-team league that was founded by Billie Jean King. The event runs from July 4-24.
