Teenager Wu Di from Shanghai upset Jiangsu's top seed Zeng Shaoxuan to win the men's singles in the tennis tournament of the 11th Chinese National Games on Tuesday.

Wu Di, at 18 and seeded No. 9 in the event, won the final at 6-3, 6-3.

"My training has been very systematic, and training aborad helped me a lot in boosting my confidence," Wu Di said of the easy win.

"My mental state is good and I have no pressure. Getting the gold medal is my first step as there is still a long way to go for me," Wu added.

For Zeng, the silver is acceptable as he has won the team's event and men's doubles at the National Games.

"Comparing with the last National Games, I play better this time," said Zeng.
