WALTON HEATH, England: European stars Paul McGinley, David Howell and Niclas Fasth missed a chance to book their places at the US Open after falling short in Monday's qualifying event at Walton Heath.

While McGinley, Howell and Fasth couldn't make the cut, England's Simon Dyson and Simon Khan, France's Raphael Jacquelin and recent Spanish Open winner Thomas Levet all qualified for the Bethpage Black tournament next month.
