Serbia's Ana Ivanovic beat Russian Dinara Safina 6-4, 6-3 to win her first grand slam title at the French Open here on Saturday.

Ivanovic's win lifted her to number one in women's tennis. The 20-year-old lost to Belgian Justine Henin in last year's final, when she won just three games.
