Greek Gianniotis wins men's 10km open water at swimming worlds

Spyros Gianniotis of Greece took the men's 10km open water gold medal at the 14th FINA World Championships here on Wednesday.

Gianniotis clocked in the winning time of one hour 54 minutes and 24.7 seconds, beating German Thomas Lurz to second at 1:54:27.2, and Russian Sergey Bolshakov placed third at 1:54:31.8.
