Angola, Cape Verde and DRC confirm participation in All Africa Games

The Democratic Republic of Congo, Angola and Cape Verde have confirmed their participation in the All Africa Games to be held in September 2011 in Mozambique.

Radio Mozambique said Monday that Congo will bring 60 athletes to the games to be held in the Mozambican capital, Maputo,the southern city of Matola and the neighbouring province of Gaza.

Quoting the Mozambican Federation of Athletics, Radio Mozambique said that preparations of the venues are at a high stage, including the national stadium built by China.

Penalva Paulo of the federation told state radio that more African countries are to confirm for the event, the first to take place in Mozambique.

Mozambique Prime Minister Aires Ali has called for speeding up the building work.
