American Vonn wins 20th career downhill

American ski superstar Lindsey Vonn won the 20th downhill race of her career in Zauchensee, Austria, on Saturday, the AFP news agency said.

The 26-year-old Olympic champion - claining her 37th World Cup success - beat home Swedish veteran Anja Paerson by 43hundreths of a second while Austrian Anna Fenninger grabbed her first ever podium finish in the discipline as she timed 98hundreths of a second adrift.

World Cup leader Maria Riesch of Germany retained her place atop the standings by finishing fourth.
