Tickets for 25th World University Winter Games on sale

Tickets for the 25th World University Winter Games (Universiade) will go on sale as of January 1, 2011, the semi-official Anatolia news agency reported on Friday.

The games will take place in Turkey's eastern province of Erzurum between January 27 and February 6, 2011, said the report, adding that the tickets will be sold online on " tr".

Ticket prices range between 3 and 20 Turkish lira (TL) (one U.S. dollar is equal to 1.55 TL).

Universiade, as the olympic meeting of university students, is one of the most important sport events in the world.

The Games, which are staged every two years in a different city, are held in two parts as Summer and Winter Games. The summer games first took place in Turin in 1959, and winter games in 1960, in the city of Chamonix (France). The leader in hosting the games is Italy (5 times).
