The Field Hockey International Federation (FIH) suspended on Thursday the match between the Chinese women's team and its South African counterpart, on the third date of the World Cup hosted in Rosario city, due to the pouring rain.

The rain affected Rosario, 300 kilometers northwest to Buenos Aires, Argentina's capital, which made the match scheduled at 2:30 p.m. local time (1730 GMT) to be suspended.

Meanwhile, other matches of England vs South Korea and Argentina vs Spain will be played only if the climate conditions are improved.

The rain began when China and South Africa, of the group B, were doing their warming exercises.

The Group B is led by Argentina and England with six points, followed by South Korea and South Africa with three points, Spain and China with zero.

While the group A is headed by the Netherlands, Australia and Germany with six points, followed by Japan, New Zealand and India all with zero points.
