England defeated China 1-0 on Tuesday at the 12th Women's Field Hockey World Cup hosted in Rosario city, 300 kilometers to Buenos Aires, Argentina's capital.

This is the second consecutive defeat for China in this World Cup.

England won with a short corner scored by Hannah MacLeod in the first minute in a match played in the stadium of Rosario.

With the triumph, England add two consecutive, after defeating Spain 3-2 in the first date.

China lost 2-1 to South Korea on the opening day, and its possibilities of making the semifinals were reduced.

England scored quick to earn the advantage. China tried hard to get the tie, but were not able to beat English goalkeeper Beth Storry.

China also paid high for lack of efficiency at the short corner, as they have five shot opportunities and did not score any of them.

The next matches of the date will be South Africa vs Spain, and Argentina vs South Korea.
