Brazil wins 7th Continental Championship of female boxing

At the Sports Gymnasium on the campus of the Universidade Catolica in Brasilia, the Brazilian women's national boxing team won the Continental Championship on Thursday. With five gold medals, the women won their seventh tournament title.

With 10 athletes in the competition, the Brazilian women produced nine medals. Five of those medals were gold, one was silver and three bronze. With 27 points, Brazil led all teams. Canada finished second place with 19 points. Argentina trailed in third place with 16 points.

The champions of their respective weight classes were Erica Matos (46 kilos), Taynna Cardoso (57 kilos), Adriana Araujo (60 kilos, Roseli Feitosa (81 kilos) and Erica Cabrera (81 kilos and above). All five athletes won gold medals, helping Brazil to win another Continental Championship of boxing.
