Yang Xiuli from China outscored Louette Lucie from France to win the women's 78kg category gold medal at the World Judo Grand Prix here on Sunday, as her teammate Qin Qian claimed the over 78kg class championship.

Yang Xiuli, who defeated Malzahn Luise from Germany at the semifinal, ipponed her opponent at the final with only 10 seconds left in the five-minute showdown of women's 78kg division, as she was behind Louette in the first three minutes.

"Malzahn is one of the top two athletes in Germany and Louette is the best in France in the 78kg category," said Yang. "I knew very well the difficulties to clinch the gold and I did it."

China clean-swept the over 78kg class medals with Qin Qian emerging the champion.

China and Japan each took four gold medals at the two-day event. South Korea and Egypt captured two golds apiece with France and Mongolia each picking one.
