Huo Liang of Shanghai claimed the men's ten-meter platform gold at the 2008 National Diving Championships here on Sunday.

Huo Liang kept the leading position since the second round and collected 573.05 points to win the gold.

"I performed my normal level," said Huo, winner of the men's 10m platform synchro with partner Lin Yue in 2007 Melbourne Worlds and 2008 World Cup. " But it was not perfect, and I still need to improve a lot."

"My focus is on synchronized event," added Huo. "If I can compete in the Olympic Games, I'll do my best."

Yang Liguang of Fujian trailed at 551.55 to take the silver, while Qiu Bo brought Sichuan team a bronze by collecting 532.95.

"It was OK," said Yang. "But my dives were not excellent and cannot be compared with Huo Liang. I will communicate with my coach and train harder."
