Yu Fengtong from Yichun won five gold medals in speed skating at the 10th National Winter Games Monday.

He obtained two golds on Sunday and netted three golds on Monday, the last day of the 11-day Winter Games.

"I am very satisfied with my performance at the Games. At last winter games, I got four golds. This time, I got all the five in men's short-distance all-round skating," he told reporters.

"I do not have so many advantages. I just tried my best to do it," he added.

The Games requires all the skaters in the short-distance all-round skating to run the 500 meters and 1,000 meters twice. Each race carries a gold. The fifth gold builds on the final score of the athletes.

On the training system in China, Yu said that unlike Japan and the Netherlands which have many excellent skaters in these events, China has few, which is not good for the further development of the sport.
