Yuliya Pakhalina of Russia broke China's domination on diving at the 4th Military World Games to clinch the title of women's 1m springboard on Friday.
The Russian Olympic champion nailed five spectacular dives to collect a total of 308.10 points for the gold, beating Yang Yuting of China to the second place in 268.90.
"Chinese divers did really well in the past three days. I think Yang could do better today, if she did not make mistake in the third dive," said Pakhalina, who finished third in the World Series in Nanjing, China, one month ago.
"Even I could not win, I should do better. I opened too early in the third dive, and the Russian did much better today," echoed Yang, who snatched women's 3m springboard gold for China on Tuesday.
Ok Ju Kim of DPR Korea settled with a bronze in 260.30, and Chinese hopeful Lou Sha only finished sixth with 223.90 points.
China had bagged three golds since the start of the competition. Li Shixin grabbed first gold for China after winning the men's 1m springboard title on Monday, while Olympic champion Peng Bo contributed the third in men's 3m springboard on Thursday.
