German soccer powerhouse Borussia Dortmund have signed Bulgarian starlet Mihail Aleksandrov from CSKA Sofia on a three-year contract, following their disappointing start of the new season, local media reported on Tuesday.

The 18-year-old midfielder has impressed Borussia coach Thomas Doll during his trial at the club and has been rewarded with a permanent contract.

Aleksandrov, whose transfer to Liverpool earlier in the summer collapsed due to the fact that he was not given a work permit, had no professional contract with CSKA and therefore his former club will receive only a training compensation for his transfer.

"I am very happy that an agreement was reached and I will have the opportunity to play for such a big club," Aleksandrov was quoted by Eurosport.

He admitted that the spirits at the club are now low following the two straight Bundesliga defeats and stated his ambition to make his official debut for the club soon.
