The power was off and the blackout held the women's 3m springboard semifinal competition in grip about 10 minutes at the Aquatic Center of the Bangkok University Games on Thursday.

The lights in the stadium went out at about 19:00 (local time) when Japanese diver Sayaka Shibuswa walked on the springboard for her last round of the semi-final.

The competition was resumed about 10 minutes later when the Bangkok power supplier solve the problem, one of the venue staff said.

Thailand had laid special power supply line to the University Games, which, however, was still not enough as so many venues were lightened up for the night competitions, the staff said.
