Egypt's Al-Ahly soccer team, which isnicknamed "the Red Devils", won the title of the Egyptian Cup on Monday evening after a 4-3 victory over their arch rival Zamalek team in the final match.

Five minutes into the second half Zamalek's striker Amr Zaki stroke the opener for Zamalek, just six minutes before Emad Meteb level it 1-1 for "the Red Devils".

Zamalek took the lead once again when Shekabala scored in the 64th minute, but Al-Ahly's Abou-Trika grabbed an equalizer for thesecond time in the 88th minute.

Nine minutes into the extra time Zamalek took the lead for the third time when striker Gamal Hamza scored a goal.

However, in the 16th and 18th minutes of the extra-time, Al-Ahly's substitute Osama Hosny headed home twice, dashing the hope of Zamalek.

Al-Ahly's coach Manuel Jose was happy with the result, praisingthe spirit and determination of his players to overturn the game three times and beat the rival, local football website Filgoal.comreported.

"Congratulations to everyone related to the club, it was a great game, but I am particularly happy with my players because they showed great spirit to win the trophy," Jose told reporters after the game.

"I was surprised that we were nervous in the first half and I don't know why, because I believe we are the best in Africa, but we demonstrated our character in the second half," he added.

Commenting on the rival Zamalek, Jose said, "I want to applaud Zamalek for the great display, I think it's the best game for Zamalek this year."

Al-Ahly, which was established in 1907, is the leading footballteam both in Egypt and Africa. This is the 35th title for the century old football team in the Egyptian Cup.
