The whole construction of Huizhou Pumped Storage Power Station, located in south China's Guangdong Province, was finished on June 15.

The power plant was built by China Southern Power Grid Co., Ltd. and has the largest installed power generation capacity among its peers in the world.

Since the operation of its first unit, its units were launched 7,562 times, transferred 2.57 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity during peak hours and reserved 3.21 billion kilowatt-hours of off-peak electricity. All its 13 emergency launches, which involved 17 sorties, succeeded, playing a significant role for safe, stable and low-carbon operation of the Southern Power Grid.
