Commemorative coins issued for Communist Party's 90th anniversary

China's central bank released a commemorative coin for the upcoming 90th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China on June 16, 2011 The coin, made of brass alloy and 30 millimeters in diameter, has a face value of five yuan (0.77 U.S. dollars).

The front face of the coin carries the country's name and the year 2011. On the other side are images of the CPC emblem and flag as well as a peony, pigeon, five stars and the words the CPC 90th founding anniversary" and "1921-2011." A total of 60 million coins have been issued this time.
