Differentials 'key', says PBOC

China needs to consider interest rate differentials with the United States when setting monetary policy in the world's second-largest economy, a senior official at China's central bank said on Wednesday.

Sheng Songcheng, head of statistics at the central bank, said China should also consider floating deposit rates as it reforms its financial market.
