Since the Hong Kong designed clothes, decorations and household goods are very popular in mainland China, Hong Kong Design Gallery, created by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) with dozens of well-known brands in Hong Kong, opened its online store on Taobao.com to seek business opportunities in mainland China for its 100% Hong Kong-designed products.

The opening of online shopping will also partially reduce the cost of these unique and innovative "Hong Kong Design" products, so that the consumers can buy them with more affordable prices, according to Chen Jinhai, Chief Representative of HKTDC in North China.

Hong Kong Design Gallery's Taobao store has already opened and begun to accept orders recently. And 20 brands, including Chow Sang Sang, Loveramics, Vidus, are the first to be online. There will be over 100 Hong Kong brands on sale by the end of this year.
