A trade promotion delegation would leave for Europe tomorrow, said Yao Jian, spokesman of China's Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM) today. The Ministry had organized a total of 13 trade promotion missions to more than 30 countries and regions since 2009.

Yao pointed out that the MOFCOM would organize promotion delegations for trade and investment with related industry associations, so as to extend imports proactively. He also urged foreign countries to loosen export of hi-tech products to China.

China would expand its imports in 2010, and it could be expected that the imports and exports of China would be closer to balance, he added.

Currently, China had signed and implemented 8 Free Trade Areas (FTA), involved with regional trade cooperation of 16 countries and regions. Since the establishment of the China-ASEAN Free Trade Area in January this year, China's imports from ASEAN countries were far more than exports to these countries, Yao introduced.
