According to news released by the Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM) February 27, a China-Poland joint venture recently won the bid for Poland's A2 Highway Construction Project. This is the first time that a China-Poland joint venture has won a project and also the first time that a Chinese enterprise has won a bid for a large-scale EU infrastructure construction project.

Officials from MOFCOM said that Gao Hucheng, head of the Chinese delegation of the China-Poland Economy Joint Commission and vice minister of MOFCOM recently met with officials from Poland's infrastructure department while visiting Poland, and the 2 parties compared notes in terms of the cooperation between the 2 countries in the infrastructure construction of Poland.

Gao expressed satisfaction with the progress of the 2 countries' cooperation in infrastructure construction and said that he believes that the Chinese enterprise will smoothly cooperate with its local partner, and build a high-quality A2 Highway according to the contract and the EU's standards. He also hopes that this project will become a demonstration project for Chinese enterprises and local enterprises for successfully constructing an EU country's infrastructure construction project.
