Apple iPad buyers to get rebate

According to a rebate plan announced by Apple, Chinese buyers of first-generation iPad tablet PC through the online system in the last two weeks will get 1,100 yuan rebate for the extra money they paid before the price reduction on March 3.

However, it will take longer for consumers who have made the purchase at Apple outlets to get the rebate.

The new prices of first-generation iPad at Apple's online shop are 2,888 yuan for 16GB Wi-Fi, 3,688 yuan for 32GB Wi-Fi and 4488 yuan for the 64GB Wi-Fi.

On Thursday, Apple announced a rebate of 100 U.S. dollars to first-generation iPad buyers who made the purchase in the last two weeks to cover the price difference between it and the iPad 2, which is expected to hit the U.S. market on March 11.
