GAC's first own-brand passenger car Trumpchi, a mid-sized sedan, rolled off the assembly line on Sept 3.

Before formally going on sale at the end of this year, the first 500 cars will be delivered in October to the organizing committee of the 16th Asia Games to provide transport services.

The car has a top speed of 200km/h and consumes an average of 8.8-liter gasoline every 100 km. It is 4,800 mm long, 1,819 mm wide and 1,484 mm high with a 2,702 mm wheelbase. It is powered by either a 1.8-liter or 2.0-liter self-developed engine.

GAC began construction on facilities to make its own-brand vehicles in 2008.

With the first phase of the project completed, it now has the capacity to make 100,000 vehicles and 100,000 engines a year.

The company said it will make cars ranging from economy to luxury class as well as SUVs and MPVs under its own nameplates with plans for introducing at least one new model every year.
