China's 3G users hit 16 mln by February

The number of China's 3G users has kept increasing and rose to 16.06 million last month, according to figures released Wednesday by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT).
In February alone, an additional 1.52 million users became 3G service subscribers, the statistics showed.
Of the three telecom giants, China Mobile reported 6.86 million users by February, using its self-developed TD-SCDMA network; China Telecom had 5.14 million people with its TD-SCDMA service; while China Unicom had a WCDMA user base of 4.06 million.
