The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology is working with the State Administration of Radio, Film and Television on a trial plan of the tri-networks integration, hopefully to be released by the end of April, Li Yizhong, Minister of Industry and Information Technology and deputy to the National People's Congress, said Friday.

Li said 2010 to 2012 is the pilot period of the program. The ministry and administration are trying to decide how telecommunications enterprises will be linked to the cable TV network and how cable TV will integrate with telecommunications.

The plan will also describe the pilot cities and enterprises, as well as the rules of the integration for making the plan operational.

Li said a few trials had been launched and achieved some accomplishment in the past ten years. He hoped the detailed plan will be approved by mid-May.

Tri-networks integration of the telecommunications network, the cable TV network and the Internet aims to provide the three services an integrated platform.
