Ministry of Commerce: Chinese-funded enterprises in Haiti safe

At present China's enterprises are safe in Haiti, and China will continue to provide humanitarian assistance to Haiti, a Chinese official with Ministry of Commerce said.

According to the Ministry a total of three Chinese-funded enterprises are currently operating in Haiti, namely, ZTE Corporation, Nuctech Company Limited (NUCTECH) and a private enterprise based in Wenzhou, Yao Jian, spokesperson for the Ministry of Commerce said at a news conference on January 15, 2009 that these enterprises are safe in Haiti.
