Certificate training program for senior staff of central enterprises launched

China's State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission (SASAC) and State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs (SAFEA) jointly launched a program to train internationalized and high-skilled talents for China's central enterprises on October 12. A group of 240 senior executives and technical staff from the country's central enterprises will receive the first training class.

SASAC and SAFEA have been cooperating in introducing overseas intelligence resources since July 2007. Their certificate training program includes Project Management Professional (PMP), Sales & Marketing Executives International (SEMI), International Import-Export Institute (IIEI) certificate as well as International Public Management Association (IPMA) for Human Resources certificate.

According to officials at SAFEA, they are introducing international professional certificates applying the principles of "maturity, progressiveness and applicability". Over 35,000 trainees have received the PMP certificate since it was introduced to China in 1999.

Li Xuedong, head of the Public Work Bureau under the SASAC, said that the program would help "to boost the core competitiveness of the central enterprises and to achieve the strategic objective to become the world's leading companies."

A total of 3,585 senior executives and technical staff from 51 central enterprises are expected to receive the training. SASAC and SAFEA will also establish a leading group for better coordination.
