Bank of Communications (BoCom), China's fifth-biggest lender, plans gradually to increase provisions to guard against bad loans, a senior executive said Wednesday.
"We will take a prudent approach and will gradually increase our loan-loss provisions," chief financial officer Yu Yali told reporters after the company reported its first-half earnings.
"Our goal is to fully cover the bank's credit risk, rather than postpone risks into the future."
