Chinese equities opened higher Thursday with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index up 0.74 percent to open at 2,588.97 points.
The Shenzhen Component Index edged up 0.6 percent to 10,300.5 points at the opening.
China's equity markets were shut from June 14 to 16 for the traditional Dragon Boat Festival.
