Jobless rate of the Eurozone remained at 10 percent in July for the fifth month, the European Union's (EU) statistical bureau Eurostat said on Tuesday.

It was higher than the 9.6 percent registered a year ago.

For the 27-nation EU, the jobless rate was also steady at 9.6 percent in July. It was 9.1 percent in July 2009.

Eurostat estimated that 23.057 million men and women in the EU, of whom 15.833 million were in the euro zone, were out of job in July.

Among the member states, the lowest jobless rate was seen in Austria and the Netherlands, which was 3.8 percent and 4.4 percent respectively. Spain registered the highest jobless rate of 20.3 percent. Regional powerhouse Germany's jobless rate remained at 6.9 percent compared with the previous month.

Compared with a year ago, three EU member states recorded a fall in the unemployment rate, two remained stable and twenty-two saw an increase.

Analysts said the high unemployment rate will continue to contain economic development of the Eurozone and the EU as a whole.
