Russia to cancel zero tariffs on East Siberian oil exports

Russia will officially cancel a zero-tariff policy on east Siberian oil exports starting from Thursday.

According to a statement posted on the Russian government website late Tuesday, east Siberian oil export duties will be 69.9 U.S. dollars per ton, and will be adjusted at a monthly basis.

Oil in Russia's east Siberia is transferred mainly through the Eastern Siberia-Pacific Ocean pipeline to the Asia-Pacific market.

Previously 22 oil fields in this region enjoyed zero tariffs in order to spur output and exports.

Starting from July 1, oil export duties for all the other Russian regions will be set at 248.8 dollars per ton.
