The Australian government is continuing to warn its citizens planning to attend a commemoration service in Bali on Tuesday to mark the eighth anniversary of the first Bali bombing of the "very high threat of terrorist attack", the JakartaGlobe.com online news reported on Monday.
"Australians planning to visit Bali to attend the commemorative services should note that the government continues to recommend that Australians reconsider their need to travel to Indonesia, including Bali, due to the very high threat of terrorist attack," the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade said in the advisory.
"We continue to receive credible information that terrorists could be planning attacks in Indonesia which could take place at any time," it said.
The 2002 Bali bombing in Kuta on Oct. 12, left 202 dead, including 88 Australians, and another 240 injured. In 2005, three suicide bombers killed 26 people and wounded 26 others.
