Japan's June convenience store sales fall for 13th straight month

Japan's convenience store sales in June drop 1.5 percent from a year earlier on a same-store basis, the Japan Franchise Association said in a report on Tuesday.
According to the industry body, sales fell to 609.51 billion yen (7.05 billion U.S. dollars), marking the 13th successive month of decline. And per-customer spending slumped for a 19th straight month.
On average consumers spent 549.8 yen (6.36 U.S. dollars) per person in the recording month, a drop of 1.6 percent from the same time a year ago, it said.
