Seoul shares open lower

The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index (KOSPI) tumbled 35.11 points, or 2.11 percent, to trade at 1,629.02 in the first 15 minutes of trading.
The local currency was trading at 1,234.50 won to the U.S. dollar as of 9:15 a.m., down 32.30 won from Friday's close.
