Indian stocks open higher

Indian main stock index Sensex opened at 16,574.79 points on Wednesday, 2.76 points higher from previous close of 16,572.03 points.

The index rebounded 73.5 points or 0.44 percent after 11 minutes of trading in the early trading session from 2.2 percent of plunge in previous trading session.

Auto, consumer durables, realty and IT sectors picked up 1.23 percent, 1.03 percent, 0.85 percent and 0.64 percent, respectively.

Reliance Communication, automaker Mahindara & Mahindra, cement producer ACC and car producer Maruti Suzuki grew 4.85 percent, 1.7 percent, 1.76 percent and 1.64 percent, on encouraging sales in May.

Sensex is the common name for the Bombay Stock Exchange Sensitive Index. It consists of the 30 largest and most actively traded stocks, representative of various sectors, on the Bombay Stock Exchange.
