S Korean shares close lower on unstable geopolitical situation

The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index (KOSPI) dropped 29.9 points, or 1.83 percent, to 1,600.18, the fourth straight losing session.
Trading volume was moderate at 352.3 million shares worth 6.41 trillion won (5.37 billion U.S. dollars), with losers outpacing gainers 659 to 156.
The local currency closed at 1,194.10 won to the U.S. dollar, down 29 won or 2.43 percent from Wednesday's close.
