Resource-poor Japan is planning to build at least 14 nuclear power plants over the next 20 years, the Nikkei business daily said Sunday, adding that the government is eager to boost the energy self-sufficiency ratio from the present 38 percent, with the government and corporate interests overseas taken into account, to double that figure by 2030.
