Dollar at upper 88 yen level in Tokyo

The U.S. dollar traded at the upper88 yen level in Tokyo, after dropping to a nine-month low in the lower 88 yen range early Monday.

At 9 a.m., the dollar bought 88.72-74 yen, compared with 89.58-68 yen in New York and 90.59-61 yen in Tokyo at 5 p.m. Friday.

The euro was quoted at 1.4707-4710 dollars and 130.48-53 yen, against 1.4687-4697 dollars and 131.60-70 yen in New York and 1.4684-4685 dollars and 133.03-07 yen in Tokyo late Friday.
