Microsoft Corp is expected to inject 23 billion won (about 19.2 million U.S. dollars) to support South Korea's game development, the Korea Creative Content Agency said on Thursday.
The money, which will be spent over the next four years, will be used to provide technical and marketing support to at least 25 game development companies, such as educating and training developers, helping create new enterprises and develop new overseas markets, the state-run agency said.
The U.S. software giant has signed a preliminary agreement with the agency earlier in May to boost the game software industry in South Korea.
